Riga, the capital of Latvia, joined the BEA to ensure that energy efficiency is incorporated into ongoing Smart City programming.

As part of its Smart City work, Riga has explored green IT initiatives, sustainable urban mobility, and energy planning programs with a select set of private sector partners. The city has also worked with Horizon2020 on programs for green public procurement.
