In partnership with the Emirates Green Building Council, Dubai aims to help schools cut back on water and energy use and associated costs through a benchmarking project. This is the first initiative of its kind in the MENA region. Dubai’s Energy Management Strategy calls for the city to reduce energy and water usage by 30% by 2030, and Emirates GBC hopes schools can play a pivotal role in achieving this goal – in addition to educating children about energy efficiency. At the end of the years, schools that choose to participate will be issues a scorecard and compared against other participants.
