Bogotá has been selected as one of the four Deep Dive cities for the BEA’s Zero Carbon Building Accelerator (ZCBA), through which the Ministries of Housing and Environment are working closely with WRI and the Colombia Green Building Council to reach a zero-carbon building sector by 2050.
Bogotá has worked with the BEA as a deep engagement city since 2016 and is now working on decarbonization with the Zero Carbon Building Accelerator project. Ambitious city leadership, close local partners, and industry-wide support helped the city and its local implementation partner, the Colombia Green Building Council (CCCS), adopt and update Colombia’s building energy code and create a Monitoring, Report and Verification (MRV) system for the city while integrating new efficiency guidelines into a new large development project, Progresa Fenicia.
