In coordination with the BEA through a Leadership Grant, the city of Santa Rosa and ICLEI Southeast Asia developed a local green building ordinance to support implementation of the Philippine National Green Building Code.
After joining the BEA, Santa Rosa participated in finance training with the BEA at the Sustainable Energy for All Forum in 2018. Through 2019, the city compiled and analyzed existing national and local green policies and consulted on projected construction in Santa Rosa City with stakeholders. In the first quarter of 2020, Santa Rosa published the Green Building Ordinance and launched the Green Building City Challenge near the end of 2020. In 2021, Santa Rosa is assessing the Challenge’s impact on greenhouse gas emissions.
