Monteria was a 2019-2020 BEA Deep Dive city through the World GBC-led Cities Climate Action Project.

Monteria’s BEA policy commitment is to conduct a technical study based on Bogotá’s experience developing an implementation protocol for Resolution 549/2015. The city voluntarily adopted a local policy to implement these water and energy efficiency standards in new buildings with Resolution 0163/2019. The Resolution was accompanied by several training sessions by the BEA, local implementation partner CCCS, and the city of Monteria through March 2020. Monteria facilitated the water and energy savings guidelines in a local context through an audit of the Alcadia de Centro Verde building in July 2019. The findings from this report were delivered to the local planning department to conceptualize recommendations for existing public office buildings.
